"Increasing and Decreasing

Faith increased  and evil desires decreased.

Hope increased

and despair decreased.

Love increased

and hatred decreased.

Patience increased

and frustrations decreased.

Self-control increased

and impurity decreased.

Superstitions increased

and knowledge decreased.

Drunkenness increased

and dignity decreased.

Immorality increased

and joy in the family decreased.

Ignorance increased

and unity decreased.

Self-centredness 

 increased

and peace among men decreased.

Lord,

let faith in you grow in my heart.

Let love grow in my heart.

Let hope be strengthened in my heart.

Then my egoism will disappear and goodness, courage and joy will grow in my life. Amen."
